Control, visibility and continuity
Most of the work in a Cyber Essentials assessment is finding last year’s answers, working out what a question is asking for, and keeping the evidence with the answer it supports. In-house holds all of that on your own computers.

IASME’s Danzell question set transcribed word for word, grouped into sections A1 to A8 with a ready count on each, and IASME’s own guidance you can open on the question. Questions your own answers rule out are marked not needed, so the number left to answer goes down.

Networks, network equipment, laptops and desktops, thin clients, servers, tablets and mobiles, and cloud services are answered as rows with columns, not as prose.

Files, notes and follow-up actions sit on the question they belong to, so the reason for an answer stays with the answer.

The portal’s fields in the portal’s order, one control at a time, each with its own Copy button. There is no copy-all button, because RightCyber does not submit anything on your behalf.

Last year’s answers read from the IASME portal’s answer export or assessment report PDF, or pasted in. On a renewal, a question that was renumbered, reworded or had its requirement changed carries one line above IASME’s guidance saying what changed.

Starting next year’s assessment keeps the finished year in the same folder as a read-only record, reachable through a year picker. Exports and reports come from the current year.

RightCyber helps organise your organisation’s preparation. It does not award Cyber Essentials certification and does not guarantee an assessment result. It helps you prepare for Cyber Essentials Plus; the test itself is carried out by a certification body’s assessor, who chooses the sample and decides the outcome.

No. In-house pricing covers the RightCyber preparation Workspace. Official registration, payment, submission and the certification decision remain separate from RightCyber.

Yes. Renewal Import reads last year’s answers from the IASME portal’s own answer export or assessment report PDF, or from text you paste in, works out which question set the document came from, and offers each answer back for you to confirm one row at a time. A document whose question set cannot be identified is refused rather than guessed at, and an answer you have already given this year is never overwritten. When a year is finished, starting next year’s assessment keeps it in the same folder as a read-only record you can still open.
The licence covers one organisation preparing its own Cyber Essentials work. There is no per-user seat system and no activation step: install the Builder from your signed-in account on computers your organisation controls, and keep the workspace files within that organisation.
On your own computer. Answers, notes, evidence context and exports are saved as ordinary files in a Workspace folder under your Documents, and backups are ZIP files you choose where to keep. Nothing you type in the Builder is uploaded to RightCyber, so protecting, backing up and deleting those files stays in your control.
macOS 12 Monterey or later (one universal build for Apple silicon and Intel) and 64-bit Windows 10 or 11. Both installers are code-signed and the macOS build is notarised. Checkout remains unavailable unless the required desktop-delivery checks pass.
Renewal is £50 per year after the first year and keeps your account access active: signed-in downloads of the current supported build, workspace updates RightCyber releases — including encoded question-set updates when a new set is verified — and email support. If the subscription lapses, the installed Builder and your files keep working; sign-in, downloads and support stop until you renew.
