How it works

One preparation flow for one organisation

  1. 01

    Set up your organisation

Enter the organisation details, or start from last year’s answers if this is a renewal.

  2. 02

    Prepare each answer

Work through the question sections with guidance close at hand. Record devices in structured lists where the question asks for them.

  3. 03

    Resolve the outstanding work

Attach evidence, add notes and track actions against the relevant question. Review open gaps and selected high-risk answers before export; unflagged answers still need your judgement.

  4. 04

Review and copy to the portal

Use the field-by-field worksheet to transfer reviewed answers into the IASME portal. You control the final submission.

  5. 05

    Export and keep a backup

Export the Evidence Pack for review and keep a Workspace Backup ZIP to retain your preparation record.

Sections A1 to A8 each carry their own ready count, and IASME’s guidance opens on the question you are answering.

The transcription worksheet gives you the portal’s fields in the portal’s order, one box at a time.

A preparation record you can follow and revisit

Focus on the questions that apply
Work through IASME’s Danzell questions with the official guidance beside each answer. Where your answers rule out a conditional question, the Workspace marks it not needed and adjusts the number left to answer.
Catch selected problems before export
Answer checks flag selected high-risk responses. The export preflight also highlights missing files and open actions. These are review prompts; unflagged answers still need your judgement.
Keep the reason behind the answer
Attach evidence, notes and actions to the relevant question. Keep device and service details in structured lists where the question asks for them, instead of reconstructing the record from separate files.

Renewal and year history

Start with last year’s answers. Keep each year’s record.

Real In-house capture · fictional demo organisation. The PDF is read locally on your computer.

  1. Import previous answers

Choose a supported IASME portal answer-export or assessment-report PDF, or paste previous Willow answers. Review and confirm the selected answers before import; existing answers are kept.

  2. See what changed from Willow to Danzell

Question notes explain supported changes in wording, numbering and requirements. The Renewal Delta Report in the Willow import review separates answers to carry forward from those needing review, and highlights new questions.

  3. Start a new assessment year

Keep the previous year’s answers, evidence and exports as read-only history. Begin a separate assessment record and review which previous answers to carry into it, without overwriting the work you completed.

Renewal Import supports recognised portal documents, not arbitrary PDFs, scanned documents or a certificate alone. A new assessment year uses the question set installed in your app. To receive a released question-set update, download and install the new build from your account during active access.

Cyber Essentials Plus preparation

Prepare the record for Cyber Essentials Plus.

Use a preparation checklist drawn from your own answers, an indicative sample-size estimate from recorded devices, and a place for scheduling, remediation dates and notes.

The Workspace does not scan devices, run Plus tests, choose the assessment sample or decide the outcome. Your certification body’s assessor carries out the testing.

Preparation boundary

You prepare here. Your certification body assesses.

RightCyber helps organise your organisation’s preparation. It does not award Cyber Essentials certification and does not guarantee an assessment result. Cyber Essentials Plus testing is a separate service carried out by a certification body’s assessor.

Using the included Policy Pack

Your active In-house licence includes the Cyber Essentials Policy Pack for your organisation. Adapt the templates to the way your organisation works and keep them up to date. The Documents Licence explains permitted use and the limits on sharing.

In-house FAQ

Before you start

Is the official Cyber Essentials assessment included?

No. In-house pricing covers the RightCyber preparation Workspace. Official registration, payment, submission and the certification decision remain separate from RightCyber.

Can I import information from a previous assessment?

Yes. Renewal Import accepts supported IASME portal answer-export and assessment-report PDFs, or pasted answers from the previous Willow question set. Review and confirm the selected answers before import; existing answers are kept. Check the imported content against the question set for your application and keep a Workspace Backup ZIP before changing your preparation record.

Can more than one person use the Workspace?

The licence covers one organisation preparing its own Cyber Essentials work. There is no per-user seat system or activation step. Install it on computers your organisation controls. Files are local, with no live collaboration or automatic sync between computers; agree how your team shares and backs up the current record.

Where is my Workspace information stored?

On your own computer. Answers, notes, evidence context and exports are saved as ordinary files in a Workspace folder under your Documents, and backups are ZIP files you choose where to keep. Nothing you type in the Workspace is uploaded to RightCyber, so protecting, backing up and deleting those files stays in your control.

Which operating systems are supported?

macOS 12 Monterey or later (one universal build for Apple silicon and Intel) and 64-bit Windows 10 or 11. Both installers are code-signed and the macOS build is notarised. Checkout remains unavailable unless the required desktop-delivery checks pass.

What does the annual renewal include?

The first 365 days are free and a payment card is required. Your subscription then renews automatically at £50 per year unless you cancel before renewal through Manage billing in your account. Renewal includes signed-in downloads, released workspace and verified question-set updates, and email support. If access expires, the installed Workspace and your files keep working; downloads and support stop.

Practical help before you prepare

The Workspace subscription covers preparation software. Certification is a separate process and fee. Use these free guides to plan the work and questions for your IT provider.
